I have owned many toughbooks over the years, and this is my favorite one.
I prefer this one over the fully rugged, just because it fits better into spaces dinged for the civilian world. (backpacks, etc)
I am a PC and Cable Tech, and the back-lit keyboard and touch-screen make this unit incredibly usable in dark/cramped locations. It also is tough enough to stand the types of abuse my profession may throw at it. (Drops, holding it by the screen, crushing it under tools/packs, and other minor abuses)
There is a fantastic docking station that lets me clip in to a mouse, keyboard, printer, network, and huge monitor at home, and there is no need for a carrying case when I leave.
No need to take it out of a case at the airport either!
The built in handle and tough construction also let it serve as both a club and a shield if you find yourself in a fight.
